Just some sudden thoughts after nearly finishing first year of uni:
After studying one year away from home I am learning a lot about the world but maybe what is more important about myself. It is incredible and I would have never thought it would have such an impact on me. One thing is for sure that it is incredibly hard at some times, but I believe that exactly these things are bringing me forward. It is true: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I am thinking nowadays what if I hadn't left, would've it been possible for me to develop the same way and the answer is no. It is just different culture, different people that helps me so much in this process. I became so opened for others' opinions, I am genuinely more interested in everything, starting from philosophies to social issues, politics and so on. It is an incredible experience and I would advise anyone who can to go abroad, get to know new people and traditions even if only for a short time. It is not a surprise why everybody who did something similar, advise it so much.
However, I believe we can't put it into words, it is something that you have to experience to understand. I am starting to realise how important questioning the world around us is, because if we don't. there is a much bigger chance that we rely on completely false information which is quite dangerous. I am talking now about politics but I am sure it is just as much true for other parts of life. That is why I believe listening to other people and being tolerant is a key to a better world. Staying in my own environment would not have made me realise that.
